Nacho Monreal: 7.5 – Involved in Lacazette’s opener. Supplemented attacks whenever possible.

Lucas Torreira: 8: Arsenal teams have been crying out for a Torreira for years. Defensively disciplined and tough. An excellent combination

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: 7: Flitted in and out of the game as his wont

Alex Iwobi: 8 - A different player to the youngster who cut a sorry figure during the dying days of the Arsene Wenger reign

Danny Welbeck: 7 - Replaced by PEA midway through the second half. Deserved his ovation from the Arsenal fans massed by the banks of the Thames for his hard work

Alexandre Lacazette: 8.5 - Showed clinical finishing ability in bagging his brace. A superb striker who is reaping the rewards of his hard work – and a manager who believes in him
