New signing Helen Lander scrambled home the opening goal minutes into the second half to finally break Boro's stubborn resistance and Kim Little quickly added a second.

Lander headed her second of the game from Rachel Yankey's corner and substitute Karen Carney wrapped up the win for the holders with a deflected effort six minutes from time.
