While all eyes on Arsenal's outstanding Caerphilly-born midfielder Aaron Ramsey's return to his old club Cardiff City for this weekend's FA Cup fourth round clash, a former Gunner could be playing against his old employers.

Camden-born Terry Burton, assistant to Bluebirds manager Terry Burton, told Ham&High sport: "We've got Jay Bothroyd here - an Archway boy who started out at Highbury. He's a big Arsenal fan, like me, and can't wait for the game.

"If fit he has a chance of playing. He has been with half a dozen clubs now, too many for a lad of his age [26].

"For whatever reason it hasn't worked for him, but hopefully, it can at Cardiff. He's big - 6ft 3ins - and technically very good. We want him to succeed."
