Female guests are allowed in Arsenal boardroom for the first time in 100 years before the 2-0 Littlewoods Cup win over Nottingham Forest.

"Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves," one guest was quoted as saying. "Even the women - all three of them."

Four days later Arsenal's 22-game unbeaten run ends in a 2-0 defeat at Manchester United. New Old Trafford boss Alex Ferguson called the game exciting, but George Graham snapped: "It was not a pleasant game - football was the loser.
