This week in....2003
Goals from Fredrik Ljungberg, Dennis Bergkamp and Robert Pires earned a 3-0 victory over Birmingham at St Andrew's.
The win extended the Gunners unbeaten record to 13 games since the start of the season - a Premiership record in Arsene Wenger's 400th competitive game in charge.
Wenger was missing six regular players through suspension and injury and said: "I told the players it was important to respond.
"I said: `People will be looking at you to see if you are weaker'. It was important to show we could win away with so many players unavailable."
Wenger also reserved some praise for Bergkamp - who was made captain for the first time in nine seasons.
"At the moment Dennis is sharper than last season. He has always had a great attitude to training and works very hard. At his age it's also important not to get stopped by injuries, which hasn't happened this season.
"He's faster than people think he is. He doesn't use his pace to go in behind a defence because he likes naturally to come to the ball. He's such a classy player.
