Emmanuel Adebayor has handed Arsenal a huge boost by declaring he is staying at The Emirates.

The Togo striker, who netted 30 goals last season, has been the subject of intense speculation linking him with a move to AC Milan.

His agent, Vincenzo Morabito, said earlier this week there was an "80% chance" Adebayor would move to the San Siro in a £32m deal.

But the player put to bed any plans for a move to Serie A on Friday when he said: "I am an Arsenal player and have three years left on my contract.

"The most important thing for me is to keep on enjoying my football. I'm staying at Arsenal."

Arsene Wenger has remained cool saying he expects the club's leading scorer to return for pre-season training next week. And Adebayor, who wears the No25 shirt previously used by his hero Kanu, said money is not his main motivation.

"I was born in Togo so I never cared about playing for money, my happiness was to play to enjoy myself. That's what I've been doing until now," he added at a hastily convened press conference in Vienna where is working with his sponsors.

"You can see people changing clubs because of money, because they want a change of atmosphere or to get their names in the big leagues. I just play football to enjoy myself. I play because I love it.
