Hampstead’s Harriet Dart produced one of the best wins of her career at Wimbledon on Tuesday.

Teaming up with Jay Clarke in the mixed doubles, the 21-year-old Dart comfortably beat top seeds Mate Pavic and Gabriela Dabrowski 6-3 6-4 to book their place in the quarter-finals.

Fellow Brit Heather Watson and Finland’s Henri Kontinen went out in the third round, though, to third seeds Ivan Dodig and Latisha Chan, losing 6-2, 7-6 (7-4).

World number 171 Dart collected £39,000 in prize money after losing to number eight seed Karolina Pliskova in the first round of the singles after receiving a wild card on the first day of this year’s championships.

And after losing in the second round of the women’s doubles alongside Katy Dunne, the Open University student returns to the court with Clarke today to take on 10th seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Abigail Spears.
