ZAC CURTIS' century was not enough to secure four points as Highgate were restricted to a losing draw in their Division Three clash with Harrow Town on Saturday which turned into a run-fest with more than 600 scored on the day.

Having lost the toss, Highgate were put in to bat and started well with James Warburton reaching 45 and Jake Sharland 11.

The arrival of Curtis upped the tempo as he scorched to an unbeaten 118, forming profitable partnerships with David Benton (30) Nick Brunner (70) and Phil Brown (30not out) as Highgate declared on a hefty 320-5 from 55 overs.

Yet Town refused to roll over with top-scorer Tyron Theophile (121) leading the way until he was bowled by David Benton.

Nevertheless Kamlesh Desai (30no) and Daniel Tobin (4) held out to take the visitors past the four-point total, despite three wickets from Tony Duckett and two from Andy Wilson.

Other results in the division mean Highgate are now out of contention for promotion, but they can seal the fate of bottom club Wycombe House when they travel west on Saturday.

They then entertain Barnet Bs on the final day of the season, Saturday September 5.
