MCL DIVISION TWO

North Middlesex 147-8 (10pts) beat Brentham 146 (0)

NORTH Middlesex still have a chance of finishing in the top three after they overcame a dismal start to beat Brentham in their Division Two clash at Park Road.

Midd put Brentham into bat and quickly rued the decision as the visitors raced to 95-2. But the introduction of Jaron Semper (4-18) had an immediate effect to restrict Brentham to 116-7.

Nick Packard (2-13) and James Nightingale (2-61) maintained the pressure and had the visitors all out for a modest 146 in the 39th over.

But the Park Road outfit looked to have thrown away their advantage they failed to withstand the attack led by 18 year old Matthew Lowen (4-30 from 10 overs).

Lwen removed skipper Alex Hill for 2 and then Matt Drew (2), Maxwell Creese (4) and Jaron Semper for a duck.

But Adam Holmes (55) held the innings together in partnership with last years captain Brad Sculley (13), who was making a cameo appearance. The pair pushed the score along until Sculley was run out.

Holmes was then bowled by Brahmbhatt (3-43) but Nick Packard (11) kept on to reach their target.
