MCL DIVISION TWO

NORTH MIDDLESEX 125 (0pts) lost to ACTON 129-2 (10pts)

NORTH Middlesex lost by eight wickets at Acton, the Division Two champions, in the final game of the season on Saturday.

The loss, Mid's fifth of the campaign, means the Park Road outfit finish the season with 82 points, 30 adrift of the champions.

Alex Hill's men were put in and offered scant resistance as they failed to come to terms with the accuracy of Acton's bowlers. For the third consecutive week Mid lost their first seven wickets before reaching 90.

Zulfi Azom (24), Matt Drew (23) and Jaron Semper (17) made the only notable contributions before Nick Packard (11), James Nightingale (10 not out) and Ben Honour (6) helped to drag the visitors to 125 all out in the 40th over.

Although Acton's openers also struggling with the tricky conditions, the hosts continued to push on and reached their target in the 32nd over for the loss of only two wickets - a run out from Evan Flowers and James Nightingale's catch at mid-off from Honour's bowling.
