A 92-run partnership between Will Russell and Buddy Mason was not enough to save Brondesbury from a third successive defeat in Division Two of the Middlesex County Cricket League.
Shepherd’s Bush elected to bat at their home ground and overcame the early loss of opener Rob McCarroll (2) to reach 262-9 after 51 overs – when they declared.
Rob Nelson (4-68) was the pick of the bowlers, while Russell took 3-88, but the hosts’ total proved beyond the visitors, despite some good individual scores.
Opener Sam Smith (47) helped Bron to reach 60 without loss but a mini-collapse left them 75-4 and then 108-4 quickly became 111-7.
Russell (73) and Mason (60) stopped the rot and took the visitors past 200 but when they lost their wickets the end swiftly followed as Bron fell 44 runs short.
