Teenage speedster Brandon Abraham narrowly missed out on his third Rookie Trophy in the final race of the British Super One Series.

Abraham, who lives on The Avenue in Wood Green and attends Highgate Wood School, travelled to Lincolnshire at the weekend with a chance of finishing top of the list of new drivers – thereby securing free entry into next year’s competition.

That proved beyond him, but he was on course to finish his season on a high by beating his fellow rookies in the individual race for the third time this season.

However, Abraham – who is sponsored by Castles, Palace Motors and Outsider TV – was scuppered on the last lap as another driver attempted an overtaking manouevre which he was subsequently excluded for.

It cost Abraham a place and he dropped to 14th, leaving him 15th overall in the rankings and third in the rookie standings. He will be stepping up from the Minimax category to the junior X30 class next season.
