Bostik Premier: Haringey Borough 2 (Nouble 50, Akinwande 58), Bognor Regis Town 2 (Muitt 46, Olufemi o.g. 72); Worthing 2 (Kealy 39, 56) Wingate & Finchley 1 (Cronin 34p)

Haringey Borough got their first-ever season in the Bostik Premier off to a solid start with a 2-2 draw at home to Bognor Regis Town.

There were two divisions between the sides last term, with Boro in the Bostik North and the Rocks in the Vanarama National League South.

After a goalless first half, Town took the lead in the 46th minute when Jimmy Muitt found the target.

However, Tom Loizou’s men were level four minutes later when Joel Nouble opened his account for the season.

Haringey then took the lead in the 58th minute when Karl Akinwande scored a brilliant goal.

But with 18 minutes remaining in the match, the teams were level again when Boro defender David Olufemi conceded an own goal.

Loizou’s men are back in action on Tuesday when they visit Brightlingsea Regent.

Wingate & Finchley’s Bostik Premier campaign began in disappointing fashion after going down 2-1 at Worthing.

The Blues had taken the lead in the 34th minute when Sean Cronin converted from 12 yards after the visitors were awarded a penalty.

Their lead, though, lasted just five minutes as Callum Kealy drew the Rebels level as the sides went into the break locked at 1-1.

Kealy then fired Worthing ahead in the 56th minute to send Keith Rowland’s men crashing to a loss on the opening day of the new term.

Wingate will hope for a better result on Tuesday when they entertain Hornchurch.
