Belsize Park moved level with Hackney in second place in London North-West Division Three after a hard-working 20-3 win over St Albans.

It proved to be a record-breaking weekend for Belsize, with all six of their sides winning on the same weekend for the first time.

The first XV dominated the first half in difficult, wet conditions and an early run outside by winger Will Rasbridge breached the visitors’ 22, allowing the ball to be shifted to second row Miran Serdarevic, who touched down out wide.

St Albans responded with a penalty kick to make it 5-3, but Belsize continued to dominate after half-time. They extended their lead thanks to a dizzying 30-yard run from replacement full-back Ed Mott, who went over the whitewash.

With their tails up, Belsize reverted to straight-up-the-middle rugby, and a 60-yard drive was finished again in the corner by Mott. The hosts then secured the bonus point as Rasbridge touched down.
