BELSIZE Park, who just missed out on promotion from the Herts Middlesex League division two last season, again have promotion in their sights as the season reaches its climax.

And third-placed Park, who this week returned from a whirlwind tour of China, have a great chance to improve on last year's disappointment after their gutsy win over Thamesians two weeks ago.

The victory leaves Belsize just three points adrift of second- placed HAC, who like Park have two games remaining, but have still to play unbeaten leaders Harlequin Amateurs.

On Saturday Park visit Wasps.

HAMPSTEAD, currently seventh in London League division three (north west) with three games to play, have a great chance of hitting their target of a top-six finish in what has often been a frustrating campaign for Dai Jenkins' men.

Last season, Hampstead looked relegation certainties until they came good with a shock win over London New Zealand in the final game. They visit Twickenham on Saturday.

UCS Old Boys can look forward to a second season playing neighbours Hampstead in London division three after coming out on top of their must-win clash with Datchworth two weeks ago.

Casey Mee's outfit bounded into the season with four wins from their first five games and looked set to continue the form that had seen them grab back to back promotions. But the realities of life in the higher division quickly hit home as UCS failed to win in their next 10 games and a return to division four looked a real possibility.

However, the Old Boys escaped the trap door, and with three games still to play, have the chance to further improve their position. On Saturday they travel to Harpenden.

HARINGEY Rhinos' dreams of a quick return to London League three were dashed when they were thumped by Barnet Elizabethans three weeks ago.

Rhinos, relegated last season, looked on course for a speedy return to the higher division for most of this campaign. But with 14 points and just two games to play cannot overtake second- placed Grasshoppers.

Yet, Rhinos won seven of their 11 mid-season games, including successes against Grasshoppers and a 41-10 demolition of leaders Finchley.

On Saturday they visit Old Ashmolians.

HENDON, fourth in Herts Middlesex division two last season, started with impressive wins over Old Haberdashers and Watford.

But they failed to build on the momentum and have won six of their 14 games.

However, Hendon have reached the final of the Middlesex Federation Vase for the third time in four years.
