Arsenal have won the Premier League title!

Twenty-two years since the Invincibles, several close calls, six and a half years of Mikel Arteta and the Gunners have finally done it.

They did it in typical Arsenal style, with a 1-0 over Burnley through a corner goal from Kai Havertz setting up a five-point gap at the top.

A game, a title, built on defensive solidity, set pieces and steel, getting over the line game after game.

The Gunners did their job, and Bournemouth gave the all-important helping hand, holding Manchester City to a 1-1 draw to seal the title for Arsenal.

Huge credit goes to Mikel Arteta, taking the team from 11th when he took charge to Premier League winners, playing his style, having his unique methods, and always willing the team to win.

Huge credit goes to the players, from Bukayo Saka who was in Arteta’s first side against Bournemouth all those years ago, dragging Arsenal forward time and time again, to Ben White helping the team step up a level, to Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus who elevated the project to become title challengers, to Declan Rice as the statement signing to the players this season who have helped get over the line.

Huge credit goes to the fans, turning the Emirates from a point of protest to a wall of support singing North London Forever and lifting the team to greatness.

When Arteta took charge, there was a feeling that something special was happening at the club, and steadily each season the team has got better.

It’s a title that’s been won in Arsenal’s way, against all of the noise, evolving playing style each year, overcoming mental hurdles, figuring out a way to beat Pep Guardiola, and riding the pressure to lift the Premier League title.

It leaves Arsenal with a celebratory league game against Crystal Palace at 4pm on Sunday, before another chance at a trophy in the Champions League final.

Years of struggle, years of nearly moments, years of progress, years of Mikel Arteta’s project. Arsenal have finally won it.

It’s time to celebrate Arsenal fans!
