Saracens women kept pace with the early leaders in the Tyrrells Premier 15s as they marched to a comfortable 34-20 home win against Loughborough Lightning at Allianz Park on Sunday.
After a 22-13 win at Firwood Waterloo in their first match, Saracens made a fast start in front of their home fans as captain Lotte Clapp scored in the first minute following a fine team move.
Loughborough did well to ride out the storm and they even managed to level the scores, before Sonia Green darted over for the home side’s second try.
Poppy Cleall added a third just before the break and Saracens took control quickly, with influential centre Garnet Mackinder also touching down to secure their bonus point.
Loughborough created more chances of their own, but Cleall added her second try to complete the tally for Saracens, who are due to visit Worcester Valkyries at Sixways Stadium in round three on Saturday (2pm).
