Tom Loizou has overseen a stunning run over the last couple of months the Coles Park club will aim to secure second spot on Saturday

It is all to play for in the Bostik North heading into the final day of the regular season and there is still a chance Haringey Borough could win automatic promotion.

The Coles Park club have secured seven successive victories to give themselves a fighting chance of a second-placed finish come the end of play on Saturday.

It has been a superb couple of months for Tom Loizou and he will hope to give Borough’s loyal supporters one last high before the season is out.

As things stand, Haringey are fourth in the table on 86 points with a goal difference of +34.

Level on points with them is Bowers & Pitsea who are third due to their goal difference of +43 while Potters Bar Town are in second place on 87 points – with a goal difference of +42.

Fifth-placed Heybridge Swifts are also in the running, although only just as they have 84 points and a goal difference of +51 going into Saturday.

Borough’s task will be to pick up all three points at Bury Town and hope Potters Bar fail to win at Barking and Bowers can’t see off Brentwood Town at home.

If that happens, Haringey will go up automatically alongside Hornchurch, but regardless of what Potters Bar and Bowers do, a win for the north Londoners on Saturday will confirm, at the very least, they have is a home play-off semi-final on Wednesday (May 2).

Loizou can be immensly proud of his squad, who have chalked up 12 victories from their last 15 Bostik North games,

It is an astonishing run of form and the latest win occurred last weekend when Witham Town visited Coles Park.

The game remained goalless until half time, but the deadlock was broken with 18 minutes left when Jorge Djassi-Sambu showed superb footwork inside the area before slotting home.

It secured a 1-0 victory and it was achieved in front of their biggest home league crowd of the season – an attendance of 221.

There was more cause to cheer after the match as the Supporters’ Player of the Season was revealed and Anthony McDonald scooped the award.

Ralston Gabriel was runner-up while Michael Ademiluyi was third and Haringey will hope it is not the last thing they have to celebrate ahead of a potentially dramatic afternoon at Bury Town.
