Ever wanted to live like Tim Bisley and Daisy Steiner in Channel 4’s TV series Spaced?

Well you could, because the house from the cult British comedy is up for rent in Tufnell Park.

Marketed as a spacious, refurbished two double bedroom flat in a Grade II listed period building by Highgate firm TMD properties, the bright flat looks quite different to how it was depicted on the show.

The Carleton Road property, known as 23 Meteor Street on the show, has access to a rear patio garden, its own external entrance, a kitchen/diner, a utility room and a large shower room.

The home played a key part in Spaced, with protagonists Tim (Simon Pegg) and Daisy (Jessica Stevenson), moving in together as virtual strangers.

In what is arguably one of the best scenes from the series, we see the characters bemoaning their lack of living arrangements in a dour cafe.

“Every morning I wake up and it’s the same. I get up, buy the paper and phone them only to find that they’re taken by a bunch of f****** psychic house hunters,” cries Daisy.

But the pair strike gold when Tim notices an advert in the paper which leads them towards their dream home.

“Spacious two bedroom apartment, fully furnished, £90 a week!” Tim says incredulously, before Daisy notices that the room is for “professional couples only”, leading the pair to pretend they are in a relationship.

This scene also serves to highlight how much the property market has changed in the area, as the house is now being rented at £460 per week, over five times more than the price - albeit fictional - in the 1999 comedy.

With the house marketed online by Zoopla, the days of finding properties exclusively in local newspapers also seem long gone.

Simon Pegg’s PR team picked up on the rental in a tweet, while others commented on the rise in rental prices.

This isn’t the first time the home has been up for rent - according to the Guardian the home was also on the market in 2010.
