Former stockbroker Steve Coxshall owns the Duke of Hamilton pub in New End, Hampstead, and lives above. He has a second pub in Islington and also manages musicians, including The X Factor runner-up Ray Quinn and previously the boyband Blue.

What brought you to Hampstead? I love the community feel and the quirky side to Hampstead, the pub is very important to me as it’s not only the home for some great live jazz and acoustic music in the Rabbit Hole venue below, but it’s a fantastic traditional venue that I share with the community to love the traditional values of a proper English pub. Hampstead is a stunning place to work and live and feel part of the community.

You have a day off to spend as you wish in the area, what would you get up to? In my view there is nothing better than escaping for a great walk on Hampstead Heath with my dog and my camera.

Is there anything about Hampstead which you would like to see changed or improved? I would love to see more quirky shops and some shops for men!

If you were editor of the Ham&High for a day, what one issue would you most like to see reported? Honestly I would love to see more care taken in making sure the people living in Hampstead preserve this lovely part of London and make sure that local business is supported and the village feel is maintained, I fear that big chains coming in and over-priced housing could ruin this, and it is paramount that Hampstead does not become a place to live for the rich who don’t spend money back into the village but simply enjoy the location.

A film is set to be made about your life. Which actor would you choose to play you and why? The Wolf of Wall Street had nothing on me! Honestly that film is not far from the truth of my life! 20 years in the City! God it was fun! It would be funny to see Ricky Gervais play me!

Who is the most inspiring person you have ever met? It would have to be my mate Ed Sheeran, a fine example of someone who has worked so hard to follow his dream yet remain so humble.

If you had to write your own epitaph, what would it say? Cocky, well he lived a very fast life but packed a lot in and had fun.
