Mid-century Camden warehouse flat conversion comes to market

New flats will be launched in Camden next month when the sales at a converted warehouse block with 85 apartments open next month.
The development, Carlow House, comprises 61 one bedroom and 23 two bedroom flats close to Mornington Crescent Underground, with prices expected to start around £500,000.
David Galman, sales director at Galliard Homes, which is carrying out the conversion, said: “Camden is one of inner London’s most popular and fashionable addresses. We anticipate that prices will average around £1,500 per sqft with the apartments appealing strongly to both end users and investors.
“Carlow House will offer the very best of the historic and the new, with a grand period façade, behind which will be brand new homes.”
The 0.48 acre plot was the site of a bakery in the 1800s, becoming a warehouse in the 1930s. This was used to store tickets, uniforms, signage and stationery for the London Passenger Transport Board.
The current building was redeveloped in the 1950s following war-time bomb damage and the restored white façade and large windows date from that era.
Apartments are built around a full-height, glass-covered central atrium, which will be converted into a private winter garden and there will also be space for underground parking.
Off-plan sales for the development will open on the 26th October through Savills.
