Developers rush to buy up Heath Extension – but hadn’t checked the date

The Heath Extension was listed for sale earlier today with adverts on Zoopla and Rightmove advertising a property on Hampstead Way NW11 for £100,000,000.
Interested parties were directed to contact Mr Michael Mouse about the “rare diamond” sold “chain free with full planning permission.”
The Stamp Duty on the land would be just under £12million, rising to £15million if it was bought as a second home or buy-to-let.
Callers to the estate agent who listed the property were disappointed however when they discovered it was an April Fool.
Jeremy Fine, who made the joke listing said: “I’ve had a number of calls about it this morning.
“I had to tell them right away that it was just a bit of a laugh.
“It didn’t cost us anything as we just uploaded it as one of our properties.”
Homes near the Heath Extension in Hampstead Garden Suburb regularly sell for around the £10million mark, so if real, the listing would have been a total bargain.
A plot of land with planning permission on the Vale of Health on Hampstead Heath with access to one of the ponds and uninterrupted views was reduced 13.6 per cent from £5,500,000 to £4,750,000 in March.
