Youngsters get creative at Camden Arts Centre’s family day

PUBLISHED: 16:00 01 October 2013

Creative children were in their element as the Camden Arts Centre held a family fundraising day on Sunday.

About 200 people attended the open afternoon, which offered drop-in workshops in the studio spaces and bookshop at the Hampstead-based centre in Arkwright Road.

Various free activities were running, including painting, model-making, book making and an animation workshop.

As well as taking part in the various workshops, families could view the current installations.

The workshops were free but around £500 was raised on the day through donations.

Linda Bevan, of the Camden Arts Centre, said: “The event went really well.

‘‘We’re very keen to offer activities that are free for families to enjoy, but to do that we need to keep fundraising.”

The Camden Arts Centre no longer receives a grant from Camden Council and is trying to raise £500,000 to maintain its programme.
