A woman found dead this morning at the King William IV pub in Hampstead has been named locally as the partner of the pub’s landlady.

Suzanne Wright, partner of landlady Elaine Loughran, is believed to have taken her own life.

The dance instructor, who ran sessions at Glass Dance Studios at the O2 Centre in Finchley Road, lived on the first floor above the pub in Hampstead High Street.

Police say they were called at 10.05am this morning to reports of “an unconscious female”.

Paramedics say they undertook “extensive efforts to resuscitate the patient” but the 36-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the death is being treated as non-suspicious.

The pub, with all its curtains drawn, remains closed with police officers standing guard.

A police spokesman said: “On Wednesday, 14 January police were called at around 10:05hrs to a report on an unconscious female at an address on Hampstead High Street, NW3.

“Police and LAS attended. The 36-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

“The death is being treated as non-suspicious.”
