Family fun is hot on the agenda as Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers, Anchorman, Dodgeball) stars in this hilarious and cheering twist on the Father Christmas story as Santa's underachieving, down-on-his-luck, but loveable sibling, Fred Claus.
Fred has lived his entire life in the shadow of his saintly big brother (Paul Giamatti - John Adams, Sideways). As adults, they have drifted apart as Santa grew up to be the model of giving and Fred became the polar opposite, a fast-talking wheeler and dealer!
Eventually, Fred's behaviour lands him in trouble and to avoid jail he makes the reindeer journey North for some much needed fraternal and financial support and is forced to work in his brother's famous toy factory.
Things get a bit frantic in the lead up to Christmas as Fred isn't exactly elf material, cut out for creating toys and spreading good cheer.
To make matters worse Fred discovers that all is not well in Lapland because a scheming efficiency expert, Clyde (Kevin Spacey - 21, Superman Returns, The Usual Suspects) has also arrived to assess working procedures at the North Pole.
Can Fred get his act together in time to save the jolliest holiday of the year before Clyde closes down Christmas forever?
Boasting a first class supporting cast including Kathy Bates, Miranda Richardson and Rachel Weisz, Fred Claus is THE family treat of the yuletide. Expect feel-good fun by the sleighful with this charming festive tale.
