A West Hampstead company which provides live-in care to people with learning disabilities, has raised £8,000 for a cancer charity.
Members of staff from SweetTree Home Care Services in Coleridge Gardens, completed a gruelling 320-mile cycle ride from Land’s End to London, raising £17,000 through sponsorship and donations.
The money has been split between two charities – Chai Cancer Care, which provides therapies and puts on activities for members of the Jewish community affected by the disease, and the Barchester Foundation, which supports adults with disabilities.
On Tuesday, SweetTree managing director Barry Sweetbaum, who was one of eight staff members to complete the cycle challenge, presented a cheque for £8,000 to Lisa Steele from Chai Cancer Care.
