A six-year-old girl from West Hampstead has started her own campaign to cut down on plastic waste.
Matilda Glatman, who attends South Hampstead School, has taken it upon herself to join the rising campaign to cut out on the pollutant.
After learning about the issue at school, she came home and started a poster campaign which she hopes will make people consider using less plastic.
Matilda, then asked her father to have some copies made before putting them up in the area.
Her poster reads: “In 2025 there is going to be more plastic in the sea than fish!”
She then suggests ways people can cut down on the waste.
Matilda said: “I made the poster because I want people to use less plastic and to stop polluting the oceans.”

Her dad, Daniel Glatman, said he’s delighted about his daughter’s passion for green issues.
“We’re really proud. She just came home and told us what she is doing. Hopefully people will take more notice if the message comes from a child,” he said.
