TRAIN stations in the area have been given a facelift.
With 63,000 people using the London Overground network every day, Transport for London has invested heavily in the 34 stations, including Hampstead Heath, West Hampstead and Kentish Town West. They have been repainted, deep-cleaned and received new electrical equipment such as tannoys, information screens and CCTV.
TfL London Rail MD Ian Brown said: "The deep-cleaning phase of our improvement programme is now completed. By 2010, all stations will be upgraded and refurbished. Passengers deserve a safe, reliable and comfortable journey."
The investment also aims to vastly improve the network's infrastructure, including a connection between the East London and North London lines in 2011.
