Watch helicopter hover over Hampstead Heath and Parliament Hill

Walkers watched in awe as a military-style helicopter briefly landed on Hampstead Heath this afternoon before flying off again.

It is not yet known why the helicopter was on the Heath.

Twitter user @LeeanP, who shot a video, told the Ham&High: “It flew low, landed by the lido for few mins, took off, did a circle and went!”

She added: “Too much excitement for a Friday!”
