Volunteers armed themselves with shears to cut back brambles on a beloved nature reserve.
Members of the Friends of Parkland Walk carried out a “bramble bash” on the Parkland Walk trail, which stretches from Highgate to Finsbury Park.
They targeted bushes of brambles which have encroached on open meadows in the Stroud Green part of the walk, with people coming and going throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday to take part.
Tea and biscuits were provided to sustain the hard-working volunteers.
Friends of Parkland Walk treasurer Cathy Meeus said: “We are trying to hold back the onward march of the brambles, which are the thugs of the plant world.”
