Archant

Everyone likes a bit of music on the way home, but this afternoon hundreds of lucky Londoners got to hear Sir Elton John play piano live inside Kings Cross St Pancras international station.

The superstar just walked in, sat down and began to play - and the crowds soon gathered round.

Unsurprisingly, people immediately pulled out their phones to record the pop legend in action.

Sir Elton played beautifully for a couple of minutes, before leaving a note on the piano which reads: “Enjoy this piano. It’s a gift. Love, Elton John.”

Not shy of social media himself, Sir Elton then posted a photo on his Instagram account, writing alongside the photo: “Surprise!! I popped into St Pancras International to christen the Yamaha piano which I donated to the station. Now everyone can have a play.”

A second captioned photo the star posted includes a humorous reference to one of his greatest hits, Your Song. It reads: “My gift is my song and this piano’s for you.”

Let’s be honest, we’re all jealous.
