A tribute to West Hampstead rock-and-roll hero Billy Fury has been restored after it was defaced by graffiti.
60 years since he was first discovered, the mural on Billy Fury Way in West Hampstead has been repainted.
The mural has been defaced with graffiti several times over the last decade.
Campaigners were unhappy in April, after the mural was painted over when it was last vandalised.
Billy recorded some of his most famous songs at the nearby former Decca Studios in Broadhurst Gardens. He was one of the best-known artists of the 1960s, and was Decca’s most successful artists from the era.
He died in 1983 aged 42.
Lisa Voice, Billy’s partner and head of his estate said: “The first mural was amazing and I was disgusted when it got vandalised. Now the graffiti artists have come back for a second time to redo it and it’s absolutely stunning – it is so Billy!”
