Conservative parliamentary candidate Cllr Simon Marcus has joined his Labour rival in ducking the Ham&High’s ice bucket challenge nomination.
The Hampstead Town councillor, who is standing as Tory candidate for Hampstead and Kilburn at next year’s general election, refused to take on the challenge but insisted he would donate to military charity Help for Heroes.
He said: “An ice bucket over the head isn’t much of a prank after a life time of rugby. But while I still play rugby, I have retired from pranks.”
It leaves Liberal Democrat candidate Maajid Nawaz as the only Hampstead and Kilburn candidate to have endured the ice bucket for charity.
Labour’s Tulip Siddiq was the first to reject the Ham&High’s nomination, insisting she did not want to waste water.
Last month, Ham&High reporter Tim Lamden took on the ice bucket challenge - the latest internet fad - and nominated Hampstead and Kilburn’s three parliamentary candidates.
