A top piano trio helped to raise more than £20,000 for a hospice by donating their musical talents for an evening.

About 75 generous music-lovers gave between £100 and £1,000 each to see the Leonore Piano Trio perform in aid of Marie Curie Hospice Hampstead last Thursday.

The sold-out evening, held at Burgh House, in New End Square, Hampstead, was the third recital organised in aid of the hospice by Jeanie Rosefield, whose daughter is the trio’s renowned cellist Gemma Rosefield.

Emma Carlisle, Marie Curie fundraising manager, said: “In order to provide end of life care to all that need it in the local community the Hampstead hospice is reliant on fundraising events such as this.

“We simply could not provide the service we do without voluntary donations. We are extremely grateful to everyone that has contributed to the concert as a performer, organiser or attendee”

Ms Rosefield, violinist Benjamin Nabarro and pianist Tim Horton performed works by Haydn, Mendelssohn and Russian composer Anton Arensky. Visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/hampstead for more about the hospice.
