An evening with “doyenne” of British photography Dorothy Bohm, free jazz for pub drinkers in Kentish Town and a comedy night in Primrose Hill are just some of the things featured in our top five this week.

1. Thursday - Dorothy Bohm

A unique opportunity to hear from the eminent photographer Dorothy Bohm about her work and influences. Born in 1924 into a Jewish Lithuanian family in East Prussia, Ms Bohm has spent her lifetime taking photographs and travelling the world. Her fascination with people is evident in much of her work and she has been described as one of the “doyennes” of British photography. She will be in discussion with her daughter, the art historian Monica Bohm-Duchen.

2. Thursday - Free Jazz

Live jazz by a six-piece band will be entertaining pub drinkers at The Vine in Highgate Road, Kentish Town. The monthly gig is free to all. Starts 5.30pm.

3. Wednesday - Pub Comedy

The Princess of Wales pub, in Chalcot Road, Primrose Hill, hosts the second Primrose Hill Comedy Club.

It returns with another line-up of acclaimed stand-up comedians, including ventriloquist comic Mark Felgate and sketch performer Nick Hall. Includes special guest Stella Graham and hosted by MC Dave Chawner.

4. Wednesday - Palestine Debate

Listen to a panel of Middle East correspondents offer their insight into the relationship between the UK and the Israeli and Palestinian states. They will discuss the everyday pressures that have faced both sides in this conflict, as well as the growing impact of digital technologies and social media.

Panellists include Daniella Peled, editor at the Institute for War and Peace Reporting and former foreign editor of the Jewish Chronicle, James Rodger, who spent 20 years as a journalist for Reuters and the BBC and who also reported from Gaza and Harriet Sherwood, The Guardian’s Jerusalem bureau chief from May 2010 until January 2014.

5. Wednesday - Folk Night

Highly-accomplished Scottish fiddle player Patsy Reid performs songs from her latest album, The Brightest Path.

Featuring newly recovered Scottish melodies along with self-penned material, Patsy will be joined by Mhairi Hall, one of Scotland’s leading pianists. Also appearing are guitarist Ewan MacPherson, Signy Jakobsdóttir on percussion and Ben Nicholls on double bass.
