Actor Tom Conti has given a Belsize Park man a late Christmas present after pulling his name from a hat.
The man now has £1,000 to spend in Hampstead’s independent shops after completing the Christmas Shopping Crawl, which required people to visit 23 different shops before dropping in their completed maps.
Jessica Learmond-Criqui, of the Hampstead Shops Campaign, explained: “It was about reminding people in the community about our independent traders.
‘‘My measure of success was whether the traders saw new faces. To me, it was successful because the traders said people were coming in, people were discovering the kind of shops we have here. Hopefully, they will be back in the future.”
But don’t worry if you missed out: there are already plans in the pipeline for an Easter event.
