A KENTISH Town couple were the victims of mistaken identity in a terrifying botched robbery.
The pair were woken just before midnight on Monday when two men stormed into their Montpellier Grove flat and demanded money.
The man was held in a head lock while the suspects began searching the flat. In a chilling moment one of them pulled out a knife from a kitchen drawer.
But after the couple pleaded they had no money the robbers realised they had made a mistake, with one saying to the other "it's the wrong house". The 45 year-old male victim was told to stay in the kitchen as both attackers fled. Neither he nor his 37-year-old partner was harmed.
Investigating officer Detective Michael Johnston asked for help from the public to help track down the bungling robbers.
