A quick tea break saved a woman’s life when a car crashed through the glass front of her Marylebone office, careering into her desk.
The Mercedes Benz had collided with a motorcycle in Blandford Street, just off Baker Street at 4.10pm on Tuesday. Eyewitnesses said the car then accelerated through the front of the offices.
The office worker, who sits by the window, had just left her desk for a cup of tea when it was destroyed by the hatchback Mercedes, according to eyewitnesses.
The motorcyclist, 36, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital with an injury to his back, but was later discharged.
A 45-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. She has been bailed to return to a central London police station in November.
