The Swiss Cottage Odeon cinema closes from today for a massive redesign. The cinema will reopen in the summer with new screens and new seating.
The cinema which was described accurately by Swiss Cottage councillor Russell Eagling on “somewhat craggy” is certainly ripe for a refit – but many will miss the venue as it offers an alternative to the vastness of the O2 with its larger Vue cinema.
Other independent cinemas in the area may relish the news – with the Screen on the Green in Belsize Park and Kilburn’s Tricycle theatre open for business.
