A SUSPICIOUS package left by an “inappropriately dressed” woman caused a security alert at 5pm on Saturday at Golders Green bus station.
The suspect rucksack was discovered unattended at the terminal by a member of the public who promptly alerted a passing police officer.
The station was closed down out of safety concerns and a witness, understood to be a bus drivers, described the person who left the package as “an inappropriately dressed woman, wearing just a bra” while another witness said she looked “worse for wear”.
The first inspection of the rucksack by an officer fortunately revealed that the bag contained nothing suspicious, only a laptop computer and some personal belongings so the security status was lifted.
Police believe that this is merely lost property now.
