Sunderland are reported to be interested in signing Spurs striker Darren Bent (pictured below). Black Cats boss Keane sees the 24-year-old Bent as the ideal replacement for Kenwyne Jones, who is sidelined until Christmas with a knee injury.
Although Bent has been a distant third behind Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov in the pecking order at the Lane, Spurs will be reluctant to sell the England intertnational unless Keane meets the their valuation, thought to be at least £12million.
Spurs paid Charlton £16.5million for Bent, who scored just eight times in his first season at the Lane.
