The club have allowed some development players to experience life in the Football League

Spurs have allowed several young players to depart the club on loan this past week to aid their development.

The announcements started on Monday when midfielder George Marsh was allowed to sign for Leyton Orient on loan until January.

Marsh, 20, has made one competitive appearance for Tottenham Hotspur, when he came on in the FA Cup win away to Tranmere Rovers in January.

He was used initially in the pre-season tour of the United States in 2018 and featured in this summer's trip to Asia.

Capable of playing at right-back, left-back or centre back, the academy graduate does favour playing in the centre of midfield and has been a regular for the under-23s.

He has played six times in the Football League Trophy since Spurs' under-21s were allowed to enter back in 2017.

Following Marsh out of the door was winger Anthony Georgiou, who also agreed a new two-year deal with the club on Monday.

After putting pen to paper on a contract until the end of the 2020/21 campaign, the 22-year-old will play the first half of the season for League One side Ipswich Town.

Left-footer Georgiou, who made his Tottenham debut in the Champions League back in September 2017, is a full international for Cyprus and featured for Spurs in pre-season this summer.

Concluding the early week announcements was forward 20-year-old Jack Roles linking up with Cambridge United, of League Two, on Tuesday.

The attacker signed a new deal with the Lilywhites at the end of the past campaign and will hope to impress at the Abbey Stadium on loan.

A regular for the under-23s and capable of playing up top or in midfield, this will be his first taste of senior football aside from appearances in the Football League Trophy.

Marsh, Georgiou and Roles join Luke Amos and Kazaiah Sterling in under-23s leaving on loan recently.

Amos is with Queens Park Rangers until the end of the season and forward Sterling at Doncaster Rovers for the whole of the 2019/20 term.

Spurs are expected to allow other development players like Marcus Edwards to leave either permanently or on loan this month.
