DORIAN Dervite is poised to leave Tottenham and join Villarreal after making

just one first-team appearance in four years at White Hart Lane.

The 22-year-old French defender joined the Lilywhites from Lille in July 2006 and made his debut four months later, playing alongside Michael Dawson in a fourth round League Cup victory over Port Vale.

However, Dervite's Spurs career was halted by a serious knee injury sustained in a reserve match at Norwich City, which ruled him out for the best part of a year.

The young defender spent the second half of the 2008/09 campaign on loan with Southend United, making 18 appearances in League One before being heavily

involved in Tottenham's pre-season programme last summer.

However, Dervite's prospects were undermined by a poor performance in a 2-0 defeat to Celtic at the Wembley Cup in July 2009, and he has now been deemed surplus to requirements at the Lane.
