THE Open Book Group for blind and partially sighted people celebrated its first birthday in Hornsey Library on Monday.
Members of the regular book club, which is also open to people who are not blind or partially sighted, attended the ceremony where guest speaker Christine Ronaldson, from the Calibre Audio Library charity, gave a special talk.
Outreach and development worker Sally Tagholm said: “It was our first birthday party and it was really fantastic.
“We had a cake from Dunn’s of Crouch End in the shape of a book which said happy birthday in letters and in Braille using the little silver balls you use to decorate cakes.”Picture by Nigel Sutton
