EVEN Liam Gallagher had to admit it: Hampstead's Christmas lights event on Sunday was 'sound'. The Mancunion rocker is of course a master of understatement. For most people the event is now an annual highlight, all thanks to the work of the busy NW3 organisation.
At the same time, Camden Council was announcing plans to de-clutter parts of Camden Town, a cause that has been pioneered in Hampstead by NW3 stalwart Farokh Khorooshi. Perhaps by the time next year's lights are switched on - possibly by the aforementioned Mr Gallagher - there will be a lot less street clutter in Hampstead. That really would be a cause for additional celebration.
