A 60-year-old woman was rushed to hospital last night with head injuries and a torn liver after being hit by a car in Hampstead Village.

The pedestrian was hit in Hampstead High Street outside the King William IV pub at around 9pm yesterday (Wednesday, February 22).

Two ambulance crews rushed to the scene and she was treated for injuries to her arm, head and abdomen.

The woman was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington where she is believed to be in a stable condition.

The driver was treated for shock.

Police attended and cordoned off the road and traffic was diverted until 3am this morning (Thursday, February 23).

No arrests were made.
