Showroom squatters set to have farewell 'brainstorming' party

SQUATTERS who took over a West Hampstead garage are having one last party before handing it to its new owners. The London Jewish Community Centre bought the garage as its head office last year, but in December squatters from the Circle Community Projects

SQUATTERS who took over a West Hampstead garage are having one last party before handing it to its new owners.

The London Jewish Community Centre bought the garage as its head office last year, but in December squatters from the Circle Community Projects took over the former Mercedes showroom on Finchley Road.

The group has advertised on the internet a party for tomorrow called the Interactive Diners Club - a dinner party for environmental campaigners and activists.

In an email one of the squatters Phoenix, who has previously taken over other properties on Finchley Road as well as a mansion on Fitzjohn's Avenue, said: "This is an information, skills exchange and networking opportunity, a chance to brainstorm and discuss action.
