Commuters faced misery this morning after a signal failure caused severe delays to the Metropolitan line.
An electrical fault in Farringdon at 7.52 this morning shut down the service which didn’t reopen until more than an hour later at 9.04am.
A Transport for London spokesman said: “We apologise to customers whose journeys were disrupted. Our engineers worked quickly to fix the problem as soon as possible.
“We are trying to restore normal service as soon as we can,” he added.
The spokesman said travellers can expect delays for another two hours.
