As families set their alarms for the crack of dawn to make sure they did not miss out on the Olympic torch relay in Camden, one little boy left nothing to chance.

Dylan Ireland, who will be going to University College School in September, brushed his teeth and jumped into bed last night (Wednesday, July 25) fully dressed – ready for the big day.

And at 6.30am the wide-eyed seven-year-old from Tufnell Park, with his dad and sister, were in place at 6.30am in Chalk Farm Road to see rugby legend Sir Clive Woodward jog by holding the Olympic flame aloft.

Dylan, who has tickets to see Olympic judo on Saturday (July 28), said: “It’s really exciting having all these sports coming to town and my favourite is going to be the 100metres. Usain Bolt is my favourite runner.

“I slept in my clothes to make sure I didn’t miss this.”
