Camden Remainers were out in force at the weekend, as they joined the march for a second referendum on Brexit.
Open Britain Hampstead, Camden for Europe and the borough’s Lib Dem party were part of the 700,000-strong crowd who called for a “people’s vote” on the Brexit deal or if a deal isn’t struck between the government and the European Union.
The march is one of several that has taken place against Brexit, although this is thought to be the largest.
“This was not about grandstanding politicians – this was about ordinary local people who have extraordinary personal stories behind their opposition to Brexit,” said Sarah O’Keefe, organiser of Open Britain Hampstead.
Lib Dem Cllr Luisa Porrit (Belsize) said: “Our borough, which overwhelmingly voted to Remain, needs councillors from all parties to stand up for what is in our best interests locally and nationally.”
